Record Global Sales Volume for 2016

The Sotheby’s International Realty brand achieved approximately $95 billion (USD) in global sales volume for 2016, the highest annual sales volume performance since it’s inception.  According to CNBC,  2016 was a banner year for Sotheby’s International Realty during a time when some analysts were using the words “slowdown” and “slump” to describe the luxury housing market.

The Sotheby’s International Realty brand also reported growth across its global network which now has 880 offices spanning nearly 70 countries and territories worldwide.

Sotheby’s International Realty was at the forefront of interactive technology with the introduction of 3D Tours with Virtual Reality capability on sothebysrealty.com.  This website saw the most traffic in its history last year with nearly 22 million visits.

The brand also launched the first luxury real estate app for Apple TV, featuring professionally curated high-resolution photography and high definition video allowing consumers the opportunity to explore properties on a screen larger than ever before.

CEO Philip White, in a recent CNBC interview stated that Sotheby’s makes the consumer the real focus which is of prime importance when you do business in the luxury homes market.
