Dundas Real Estate

Welcome To Dundas,
Famous For Its Abundant Natural Beauty!

Dundas is also known as ‘the valley town’. It is nestled among the soaring ridges of the Niagara Escarpment, surrounded by amazing trails, waterfalls, gorges and verdant green spaces. (www.alltrails.com/trail/canada/ontario/dundas-peak-trail). Be sure to visit Dundas Peak, Tews Falls, Spencer Gorge and Webster Falls.

Founded in 1847, Dundas exudes the unique charm and ambiance of a small historic town with 19th century buildings, quaint restaurants, independently owned specialty shops and quiet, tree-lined streets. Parking is free on Saturdays and Sundays too!!

The population has been stable for decades at about 24,000 because Dundas has not annexed rural land from the protected Dundas Valley Conservation area.

Considering that it is a small community, it is known for its amazing restaurants and food shops. Quatrefoil (www.quatrefoilrestaurant.com) sources local ingredients to create its contemporary French cuisine, served in a sophisticated environment. Nellie James (www.nelliejames.com) is a chef-driven gourmet food shop that offers catering and prix fixe ‘to go’. It is interesting to note that the famed butcher, Cumbrae’s (www.cumbraes.com), which works with a network of local farmers, has 3 locations, 2 of which are in Toronto and the other in Dundas! Also notable is Picone Fine Foods (www.piconefinefood.ca), now in their 103rd year of business in Dundas!

With the establishment of McMaster University in nearby west Hamilton in 1930, Dundas has become a bedroom community for both university faculty and students and offers a thriving arts community. It is home to a variety of artists who host studio shows throughout the year.

Dundas is part of the Hamilton-Wentworth School Board offering elementary and secondary schools.

Offering a wide range of homes from stunning century limestone houses to modern condos, Dundas truly has something for everyone.
