Becoming very popular, West Oak Trails is the new place to live due to the recent build of the state of the art New Oakville Hospital at 3rd line and Dundas. This great location has easy access to 403, QEW, Bronte GO train station. Within West Oak Trails is also the Community known as Westmount, part of the northern extension of the Glen Abbey area.
West Oak Trails is a young neighbourhood with newer schools and recreational facilities. Plenty of baseball diamonds, tennis courts. Pool, library and ice rinks. In particular, West Oak Trails is home to the popular Oakville Soccer Club also at 3rd line and Dundas.
Family oriented, West Oak Trails is a neighbourhood with a hilly topography and lots of greenspace. The streets are winding with many crescents and cut de sacs. Woodlots with footpaths and trails connecting to neighbourhood park are everywhere. What we like is the streets are traffic calmed with bicycle lanes and sidewalks. Primarily you will find detached homes that are a good size for families.
There is a wide selection of schools with Public and Catholic as well as French Immersion.
Featuring primarily detached 2 storey, 3-4 bedroom homes and townhomes, the average sale price is $1,022.466.00. Toronto Life has this to say about West Oak Trails “From Google Earth, this patch on the west side of Oakville looks like every other suburban agglomeration built in the past 20 years: twisty crescents and cul-de-sacs full of subdivisions and small parks. On the ground, things are different. The houses are a handsome blend of newer brick homes and old-fashioned semis. The public schools—Emily Carr, Forest Trail and West Oak—are excellent. And unlike most suburbs, West Oak Trails has bike lanes along all of its major thoroughfares. Then there are the eponymous trails, a network of walkways that snake through wooded areas. They’re not wilderness, exactly—backyard pools often glint through the trees—but they’re beautiful nonetheless, with thickets of sumac and monarch butterflies fluttering about.”
Lion’s Valley Park – a series of wooded trails with Sixteen Mile Creek flowing through it. Fabulous for fitness buffs with great running circuits for all levels.
Home of Glen Abbey’s famous Women’s Baseball League.
Bikes lanes run alongside all major thoroughfares in this neighbourhood.
Great views of the Glen Abbey Golf Club
