Established in 2012 and still growing, Glenorchy, the Preserve is located in North Oakville close to the New Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and Sixteen Mile Sports Complex. Conveniently located, Glenorchy is bordered by Highway 407 to the North, Dundas Street to the South, Sixteen Mile Creek to the west, and Trafalgar Road to the East.
Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this new community is the detailed planning, including neighbourhood parks, open spaces, village squares, and business/retail for added convenience. This family friendly community offers a wide range of housing styles from townhomes, semi-detached homes and detached 2 storey homes. Because this neighbourhood is still new, it is great for new home buyers. This leads to a demographic that is primarily couples or new families with 1 child.
All of the Home builders are represented in the Glenorchy neighbourhood, so if you are looking to build directly from the builder, you have found your neighbourhood. Resale is also very popular here, because you are guaranteed a new build that will be solid for years to come! Particularly appealing about this neighbourhood is the Builder’s attention to both style and quality.
Why is this area called Glenorchy, The Preserve? Conservation Halton partnered with the Government of Ontario to create the Glenorchy Conservation Area, protecting 400 hectares (650 acres) of environmentally sensitive land in North Oakville, containing the Trafalgar Moraine and the Sixteen Mile Creek valley. This area is expected to accommodate approximately 50,000 people and around 25,000 jobs. The decision to preserve the 900 hectare natural heritage system within the larger area was ultimately upheld by the Ontario Municipal Board which turned down appeals. In the Glenorchy community, all of this natural, protected Natural area is at your doorstep!
