Former Hospital Site Project Now Underway!

For several decades, the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital was located in the heart of Old Oakville. In 2015, it relocated to a state-of-the-art facility at Third Line and Dundas. After extensive public consultation, Oakville Council voted to endorse a layout and master plan for the former OTMH site which local residents unanimously approve of!

Residential development will reflect the needs and character of the surrounding community. Low-density homes will be built on the south side of Macdonald Road to complement the established homes on the north side. The new Southeast Community Centre, fronting onto Reynolds Street, will include a double gymnasium, a therapeutic warm-water swimming pool, a fitness centre, an indoor walking track, multi-purpose rooms and space for intergenerational programming.

Adjacent to what will now be Oakville’s 6th community centre will be a large park, a civic square and seniors-oriented housing, the latter designed to offer more options for seniors wishing to downsize without leaving the community they call home. Autumn 2020 is the projected date for completion!
