Discover Ancaster!

Just a 25 minute drive west of Oakville is the charming community of Ancaster,
which continues to grow in popularity. Founded in 1793, it is the third oldest town in Ontario, after Niagara-on-the-Lake and Kingston.

Located at the most westerly part of the Golden Horseshoe, Ancaster enjoys a stunning natural setting. It is considered to be an affluent community whose residents typically commute to work in Hamilton, Brantford, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga or Toronto.

Development in Olde Ancaster, the historic village core, has been tightly controlled. The current building boom is on the east side of Highway 403 and includes residential developments such as The Meadowlands, Tiffany Hill and Monterey Heights.

Wilson Street is the heart of the old town and is home to many independently owned businesses including a French bakery (www.canichebakery.com), boutiques (www.karisofancaster.com), the Old Firehall Arts Centre and the Rosseau House restaurant, (www.rosseauhouse.ca).

Tucked away on a quiet cul-de-sac, just a short stroll from the quaint village, is our listing at 335 CLARENDON DRIVE. This custom-built 3 bedroom (all with ensuite!) bungalow offers over 4200 square feet of exquisitely finished living space. The open concept Great Room is flooded with natural light from the expansive windows. The gourmet kitchen is an aspiring chef’s delight and features professional grade appliances, a large centre island and a beverage bar. An outdoor kitchen comprised of a BBQ, running water (seasonal) and a pizza oven are conveniently set on the deck just outside the kitchen door. The spacious lower level is an entertainer’s dream! The Ancaster Mill (www.ancastermill.ca) has been at the centre of local history for more than 200 years. The existing building, built in 1863, originally served as a flour mill and opened as a restaurant in 1979. Constructed of native limestone and restored to keep its authentic character intact, this stunning building is situated in a spectacular setting of waterfalls.

Home to the 2019 Canadian Open, The Hamilton Golf & Country Club, is actually located in Ancaster! It is a club that values tradition, sportsmanship and camaraderie through the enjoyment of the game. This impeccable course has previously been home to the Open and is admired by some of the world’s greatest players! The clubhouse, built in 1929, is an architectural gem, modernized to encompass today’s amenities.
